THE QUICK ANSWER

The checked V4 ARM64 APK requires Android 7.0 or later. Download from the publisher-linked GitHub release, open the completed APK, and allow only the browser or file manager opening it to install unknown apps when Android asks.

Before you begin

The checked ARM64 file reports version 4.0.12 and package io.ymusic.android. Its manifest declares Android 7.0 (API 24) as the minimum. The publisher also lists other architecture builds; this site’s byte size and hash apply to the inspected ARM64 file only.

  • Check your Android version in Settings → About phone.
  • Check which architecture your device supports before selecting a build. The publisher’s release page offers the available files.
  • Leave room for installation, app data and the music you plan to save.
  • If you already use V3, keep it installed while you check the V3-to-V4 migration steps. V4 is not an ordinary update to the V3 package.

The current file record gives the inspected version, exact bytes and source. A declared minimum does not establish successful testing on every newer phone.

The installation sequence

  1. Get the intended Android build

Open ymusic.io and follow its download links to the publisher’s GitHub releases. Our download screen waits five seconds, then requests the inspected ARM64 APK from that release. Choose another publisher build if your device requires it.

  2. Open the completed download

Open your browser’s Downloads list or your file manager’s Downloads folder. Wait until the transfer finishes. If you received an HTML page instead of an APK, return to the source; renaming the file does not turn it into an app.

  3. Allow this installer source, if asked

On Android 8 and later, the permission is usually specific to the browser or file manager opening the APK. Use the Settings link in the prompt and enable Allow from this source only for that app. On Pixel, the setting is under Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps. Other phones may place it under Security or Privacy.

  4. Read the installation prompt

Confirm that you are installing the expected application, then choose Install if you want to proceed. Stop if Android or Play Protect reports a harmful app. A general warning about downloading an APK and a harmful-app detection are different messages; neither should be ignored without reading it.

  5. Check the installed identity

After installation, check the version in the app or Android App info. V4 uses io.ymusic.android; legacy V3.9.23 uses com.kapp.youtube.final. Review permission prompts as you use a feature. See the declared V4 permissions.

  6. Close the temporary permission

Return to Install unknown apps and disable the browser or file manager’s permission when finished. That does not uninstall YMusic. Re-enable it only when you intentionally install a later update.

When Android shows a warning

The inspected V4 file targets Android 15 (API 35) and declares Android 7.0 as its minimum. Android may still refuse a file because of its architecture, a damaged download, device policy or an incompatible installation. Read the exact prompt before changing anything.

Keep Google Play Protect enabled. If it reports a harmful app, stop and investigate the warning. Do not treat every warning as a request to switch off Android’s protections.

Developer-verification requirements can also depend on rollout location and device state. Follow Android’s current guidance and the message shown on your phone. The YMusic project’s registration status was not checked here.

If YMusic will not install

First note the exact error. Check available storage, whether the download completed, and whether the app opening the APK has permission to install it. An incompatible package or signing identity can also prevent an update.

Do not uninstall your existing copy as the first response. That can remove app settings and private app data. Use the installation error checklist to isolate the cause. For a managed work or school phone, ask the administrator about installation policy.

A useful first playback check

Play one available item while the screen is on, then lock the screen briefly. If audio stops only after locking, use the background playback settings guide. If playback also fails in the foreground, use the YMusic playback troubleshooting guide.

This is a check for you to perform. We have not installed or tested the app on a physical Android device, and no installation screenshots are presented as test evidence.
